What is Dressmann doing to minimize its impact on the climate?

Dressmann is part of Varner, and we are strongly committed to minimizing our climate impact and embracing sustainable practices in all areas of our business.

“We need to develop a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at identifying the sources of our emissions, setting ambitious reduction targets, and implementing effective solutions to reduce our overall environmental impact. By actively following this plan, we strive to contribute to a more sustainable future,” says Dipankar Bose, Global Environmental Manager at Varner, which Dressmann is a part of.

A Shared Goal for the Nordic Textile Industry

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Dressmann, as part of Varner, proudly joined The Scandinavian Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA) in 2020.

“STICA represents a collaboration within the Nordic textile industry to combat climate change. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the UN's climate change framework and the Paris Agreement, the goal is to limit warming to 1.5 °C. By actively participating in STICA, we contribute to the Nordic textile industry's shared goal of significantly reducing emissions by 2050. This initiative is led by the Sustainable Fashion Academy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable practices in the clothing industry,” Dipankar explains.

To ensure that our actions are both industry-aligned and transparent, we have set ambitious greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets for emissions in scopes 1, 2, and 3 – which you can read more about in our 2023 Sustainability Report. These targets are in line with sector guidelines developed by the Science Based Target Initiative, a leading authority for setting science-based targets.

By integrating more sustainable practices into our operations, we aim to be a leading player in creating a more environmentally conscious menswear brand.
